The Best Day Part 2.

This is the video from our first look/bridals session. You never could tell what a crazy day it was right? Also Scott running around me in a circle and jumping into the air is the sweetest thing ever. We may or may not be planning on recreating this in 20 years.

I was so glad we took our bridals the night before, we weren't rushed and after we walked out of the temple no one had to wait on us to take pictures hot and hungry. Scott's parents put on a luncheon for everyone who came to the sealing close to where we were having the reception. It was the perfect regrouping before the reception. Her friends decorated and Kneaders catered. I'm so glad we did this. All of the people who were so kind in traveling had a place to come and relax and eat. The little kids had a space to take off their shoes and run around. It was a great opportunity to introduce each other to our families in a comfortable setting.

Scott's sister Shannon took these :)

After the luncheon everyone told me I didn't have to help anymore? Apparently I was the bride and didn't have to anymore? Strangest wedding I've ever been to. ;) My family launched into go mode to finish the reception. I heard my Dad went to a craft store with three grandkids for picture frames. My brothers-in-law hung lanterns in trees, Kristin directed traffic, designed our guest book and tied sashes while breast feeding. (I'm getting her a headset for Christmas.) Mom, Lindsay, and Shirl did table settings and put the food together. Julene launched into party mode to help pull it all together. They made it happen. We make a pretty incredible team when we're all together.

Gary and Julene opened their gorgeous home not only to host the reception but let family stay at their house and use their basement as the command center. We are so very lucky they are a part of our family. We love them so much.

The videographer finished our first look video for the reception in 24hrs, and we hadn't seen it yet. So we watched it on Gary & Julene's couch. Scott fell asleep, and then I convinced the party crew to let me put the flowers on our cake.

I've never been a huge fan of fondant cakes, and since this year was the year I launched my line of bundt cakes for Kneaders I wanted my bunds to be a part of our wedding. Our Orem Chefs made my hummingbird cake recipe for our wedding cake. Although I didn't physically make the cake it was really cool for me to have a part of my work in our special day. We also served mini key lime tarts, mini raspberry cream cheese tarts, mini lemon ginger bundt cakes, and mini hummingbird bundt cakes.

That framed print is my bridal shower invitation Kristin designed.

A huge thank you to my chefs and family at Kneaders. the food was so stunning.

Kristin designed postcard for our guest book. We took snippets of the letters we wrote back and forth to each other when we first met and she put them on postcards for the banner. We had our guests write well wishes on postcards in lieu of a guestbook.

I am so glad we had a videographer. We really won the lottery with photographers and videographer for our big day. Every single one of the pictures are stunning and these incredible videos. They captured the day exactly how I wanted.

Wedding Part 3 coming soon.

5.11.15

This past week I've felt like I was having an out of body experience. Everything that could go wrong did, except, Mr. Daly was there to swoop in and save me at the last second. The second before all hope was lost.

So many things have been going on. Almost too much for me to process sometimes, but I woke up today grateful that things have been crazy and hard lately. These trials have given us an opportunity to fall deeper in love with each other. Tonight after family prayer Mr. Daly kissed me and and said with a smile "I love that our relationship is this good. We're not trying to impress anyone, we're just crazy in love."

And oh is that true. When I called my mother to tell her I was going down hard and fast for a boy with dreamy blue eyes, her Mom said that she loved how Scott balanced me out, like I wasn't trying to compete anymore. I was comfortable.

I think she's exactly right. Because when I'm with him, nothing else matters.

I love you Sweetheart.

Happy Nine Months.

The Very Best Day. 8.8.14

I couldn't sleep the night before. I knew that I should sleep because it was going to be a long day but I just couldn't. I found myself writing Scott a love letter from the deepest parts of my heart at 2am. I was so grateful that we had fought for our temple marriage. We had survived the Temple Clearance letter process, and I was only hours away from becoming Jessica Nan Daly. Heavenly Father was so mindful of us,  I knew from our first date he was going to be my husband. Neither of us really knew how all of the big picture stuff was going to work out. We did however know that we love each other more than anything else, and that we loved God. Heavenly Father moved mountains to get us together and for that I will always be grateful. Everything had fallen into place, and I had never been more sure that we were supposed to be together forever. We fell hard and fast and it was exciting and crazy and perfect. Every time someone would ask me if I thought this was too fast, or if I really knew him, I would respond. "He is the easiest decision I have ever made." He still is. We have almost been married for nine months and I couldn't be more grateful he's mine forever I've fallen deeper in love with him everyday.

My parents, Alyssa, and I slept at the Lundwall's the night before. It was fun to get to share my last night of being a single girl with my single sister. It felt like something you should do. Alyssa was my maid of honor and was indispensable. We woke up at 5am and I got in the shower. Someone gave me the advice to get up a little extra early and take my time getting ready and enjoy it. Totally worth it. I dried my hair and then Lisa (my saint of a friend) and hairdresser drove up the canyon to start my hair at 6am. I handed my phone to Lyssa and she started the social media sharing.

Lundwalls have this awesome workout room covered in mirrors, I felt like a celebrity. Mom bought me the most gorgeous white lace robe to wear while I got ready. Lyssa was seriously in top form all day. She set alarms for every little thing I asked her to do. I really couldn't have done it without her.
I did my makeup and we went upstairs. My Dad made me scrambled eggs. He's an incredible breakfast chef  and knows his girls so well. Time to take time to sit down and eat, and breathe. After breakfast I asked him to give me a fathers blessing and it was one of the sweetest moments of our relationship together. I love my Dad.

Somehow we passed Scott on the way to the temple and I remember feeling so proud of myself. I always make us late. We got to walk in together and I will never forget the way he looked at me when he took my hand to walk into the temple. Love is such a pure and beautiful thing. Mom took my dress to get things set up in the bride's room while Scott and I finished paperwork in the office.

Back when I went through the temple for the first time, after the session my mom held my hand in the bride's room and she started to tear up and said "We'll be here soon enough." I remember thinking I'm so glad she's getting some revelation on the husband project because I got nothing. Who knew Scott would walk into my life just a few short months later? Moms know. She helped me get dressed into my temple clothes and we hugged and held hands and tried not to cry. We were there. In the Bride's Room. For real.

Scott and I got to spend some time in the Celestial Room just us before the sealing. I have never felt more calm and excited at the same time. The sealing was full of family and friends, and I could hardly believe we were there. We had the corner sealing room in Mt. Timpanogos we had seen after doing a session the month before. It had so much incredible light. We knew it was ours. Scott looked so handsome dressed in white.

After the sealing we hugged everyone and it was time to change into our wedding clothes and start the party! Mom and I went back to the bride's room to get dressed and I realized I didn't have my veil. I LOVED the veil and didn't want to walk out of the temple without it. Somehow it had gotten left in the truck and I was freaking out. Somehow my saint of a mother got the veil to the Bride's room and traded spots with Lisa who came in to touch up my hair and place the veil.

But come on. The veil was crucial.

Happiest Day of our Lives. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. I'm so glad you found me sweetheart.

Reception and Wedding Videos coming soon. :)

8.8.14 {part 1}

When I look back on our wedding day, I can't help but think how lucky we are it was everything we wanted. We wanted to be surrounded by the people we love, with the focus on the temple, everyone dressed up and amazing food.

That sentence seems to be a lot less detailed than the amount of work and effort that went into our big day. It is so humbling to me to have been on the receiving end of so many selfless acts of kindness and hard work. I was so worried that I lived this insanely busy lifestyle I wouldn't get to do all the traditional wedding things. Like a bridal shower in my hometown, or have my all my sisters and mother zip me into my wedding dress. Or tell my Dad thank you and I love him before we ran out of the reception. I got all of these things and so much more. My entire family was up working around the clock to make it the most gorgeous party I've ever seen. My bridesmaids were amazing, my in-laws were amazing. I really couldn't have asked for anything more.

The night before we got married we took our bridal/groomal pictures so we wouldn't be rushed. Scott flew in that morning at 10am. There was significant drama regarding his custom suit between the hours of 10am and 5:02pm, but I promised myself I wouldn't write about it. Big thanks to my dear friends at Nordy's for tailoring Scott's insanely attractive Hugo Boss suit in 5hours.
Scott carried on everything he needed to get married just in case the airline lost his luggage. It worked out that he was flying in 5mins before Cam & Kristin and their kids. So even though my parents and I drove up separate we were all standing in the waiting area together. My parents very kindly hid in baggage claim so I could properly greet Scott. It was so fun to have him come and then have Kristin and Cam come it made it feel like it was DEFINITELY TIME TO START THE PARTY! Which thank goodness because I really couldn't wait any longer.

Lisa came over to do my hair and in the midst of the crazy. My sisters zipped me into my dress, touched up my makeup and wrapped me in a bedsheet to put me in the car so nothing would get messed up. There was this quiet moment of sisterhood that I will cherish forever.

Mom drove me and Alyssa to the Temple and I held her hand the entire way. A tradition of ours we've had since I was a little girl. Alyssa coordinated Scott, the videographer, and photographer to stage the first look. Scott had moved to Texas the month before and I had barely had an hour with him. It took a lot to take real pictures and not just kiss a lot (sorry mom).

Bridals/Groomals were absolutely incredible. I was partially worried we were going to look silly because we were completely giddy to be together again. All of our pictures we were laughing or grinning ear to ear. It was such a dream to get to spend that time together.

I gave Scott a little present at the airport to wear for pictures and the wedding. I got him a Fossil watch from Nordy's. I thought with all the treats I was getting being the bride he needed something a little fancy. He wears it everyday now, it makes me so happy. I bet this is one of those things we'll keep in the family forever. It always puts a smile on my face when I see him wearing it.

I mean. YUM. Oh I'm so glad he's mine forever.

This was another one of those moments that you dream about and are so grateful for. I'm sure my Mom was exhausted from sewing around the clock, and she made time to be there when we took our bridal pictures. I hope that one day I'm as incredible as she is.

I had 100+ lace covered buttons hand sewn onto my gown so that the buttons would go all the way to the end of the train. It was everything I've ever wanted.

The pearls I wore were my late Grandma McGuire's. Almost every McGuire bride has worn these. Including my mother and two married sisters. It meant so much to me to be able to have a piece of her with me that day.

Mhmm. Yeah I'll marry you.

After pictures we went through the Kneaders drive-thru for treats. Which was kinda hilarious, because even in my wedding dress I wanted to check on work. oops.

but really we needed some serious sugar for the next 24hrs.

Note the bed sheet on the seat.

More coming in part two.
