Hi little miracles!

Oh sweet babies, do you know how much we love you? Mom cries a lot when she thinks about how much Heavenly Father must love her to send her two miracles at once. I am so glad you are a part of our family! You have grown over 10,000x your original size in just a few short weeks. I think that's pretty incredible. I know with a lot of people they're just finding out their pregnant, but for us we have loved you since you were just follicles. And we loved you before that when we were dreaming about you coming home. One of the perks of fertility treatments.  Which is why we chose to yell it from the rooftops as soon as we could. We are just so proud of you, and us, and our little family. That's the best part about family is you get to choose what works for you, and you two growing so much in such a short amount of time is something we want to share. Other families wait and there's nothing wrong with that. Because that's what works for them.

Tonight Dad started to paint the guest room. We were going to use it for the nursery, but we thought you two needed a bigger room to play in. So the old guest room will be getting a remodel once we know if you're boys, girls, or one of each!
Dad hugged me tonight and pointed out that he can tell you two are starting to push Mom's stomach out which is more than fine by me. I love any reminder that you two are growing big and strong.

I am getting so excited for Monday to see you two again. I'm hoping especially that Baby B will be in a good enough position we can hear your heartbeat. Last time we just saw it flashing on the screen which was pretty cool too. Aunt Kristin has got me all excited about the cuteness overload of two gummy bears on the ultrasound and I can't wait to have more cute pictures of you two on the fridge!

I love you sweet gummy bears!

Xoxo, Mama

TWINS!!!

Waiting for our first ultrasound was about as easy as nailing jello to a tree. Passing three blood tests was incredibly reassuring, but I was dying to see our "baby." I had been praying every night for our baby/babies to grow big and strong and the night before the ultrasound I had this feeling "it's okay to say babies." For the procedure we had four follicles, two big and two smaller so I figured if one of the big ones took, the other one probably did too. Besides I have been so sick since the day we found out. (4 weeks)

We had pushed our ultrasound to Monday so the "baby" would be bigger and woke up to no power and a huge thunderstorm. I had a mini meltdown while rational Scott called the dr to see if they had power. (I needed the ultrasound machine to have power!) They did and so we went to get in the car and realized we couldn't get the garage door open! So Scott ran around to the front and wailed on the outside while I pulled the emergency cord on the inside. We got it open and made it to the ultrasound! I think we both knew how important making that appointment was! So this is our half opened garage and our first picture as a family of four!

When we got to the ultrasound I was so excited I was shaking as soon as she started the ultrasound we both saw two on the screen.

Dr. James- "Well that's unexpected! There are two gestational sacs, you're having twins!"

Jess- "I knew it! Oh I'm so excited!!"

Scott started poking me and kept saying you over and over again.

Seeing our babies for the first time was absolutely incredible. Baby A was in a good position to hear their heartbeat and it was nice and strong. Baby B is a little more stubborn and was kinda hiding behind their sibling, but we did get a good enough view so we could see Baby B's heart beating.

Technically. We went in at 6w4d and the babies are measuring at 6w2d and 6w1d.

Is the top one.

If you want to hear Baby A's heartbeat I posted a clip to Instagram.

As we were leaving the office Scott said, "We need to buy two of everything." And I replied, "Matching Outfits!!!" I definitely think it's still sinking in for both of us, but we're both crazy excited. Having two really eliminates a lot of concerns for me. It means one less time I have to do fertility treatments to get our babies here, and Heaven forbid we can't get pregnant again we will have siblings.

I am loving being sick and tired all the time, my babies are growing! But I think I'll make a spot on the couch for a few months. ;) if we make it to 40weeks we'll have the babies the first week of December, but the average for twin pregnancies is 35 weeks so we're looking more at the first week of November. So many things to be grateful for. Time off for good behavior right?

Also I only have three more weeks of progesterone and I'm insanely excited about that!

WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!

March 31st came, and Scott woke me up to go do the blood test bright and early at 7:15. There's always a little part of me that doesn't want to get out of bed because for all I know I'm still "pregnant."

On the way over we talked about how I was feeling. I was really calm and body wise I didn't have any symptoms I usually do when it doesn't work. I could hardly breathe. All signs were pointing to yes. The night before Scott gave me a blessing and it was so sweet and good. I think after the blessing I knew it worked but was fighting pretty hard not to get my hopes up.

After blood, we came home and I had a nap. Scott worked from home and we were hoping we would know before they went to lunch. Scott came in at 11:47 and said he wanted to call. As I was rolling over I realized he had already dialed and this was happening! Sweet Sharon answered the phone and said she would check. Scott had done all the talking because I was holding my breath.

"Well.. Dr. James hasn't reviewed it yet, but it did come back POSITIVE!!"

At this point I gasp and Scott tackles me.

Sharon - "Well hello Jessica, glad you're here."

Jess - " I'm here I'm here! I just hold my breath until you say the results."

She said after Dr. James reviewed it they would call with the next steps.

We hung up, cried, screamed, and held each other really tight while we tried to process our miracle. Finally our turn.

Both our families knew we were finding out today, and if we had wanted to wait to tell I'm sure they would have respected that. But are you kidding me?? WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!

We waited all of five minutes before we started calling everyone.

We got ahold of Mom Daly first and we hadn't really worked out what we were going to say so I just screamed "WE'RE HAVING A BABY!"

I called my Mom and she didn't answer it was her big humanitarian aid day for the stake.

I got ahold of my Dad. Who later told me he kept shooing people out of his office waiting for the call. I told him he was going to be a Grandpopala like from Father of the Bride. He's my George. We had a wonderful conversation and he promised not to tell Mom.

We called Shannon and Lindsay and Kristin. Everyone was so surprised we got the news so early Kristin thought I was just calling to shoot the breeze and kill time while we waited. I asked Kristin if she would be willing to go surprise Mom at Humanitarian Aid Day so I could talk to her. She had those three kids in the car so fast! Oh we had so much fun. We talked the whole time while she drove across the valley to mom. Kristin had told her she wanted to stop by and see what it was all about anyway so we had a fantastic cover.

She found my mom monitoring the nursery and I was on speaker being very quiet. Kristin said her phone had an announcement and I yelled "WE'RE HAVING A BABY!! It worked MOM!!!"

Oh it was so great, we face timed and I got to tell her all the details. It was so sweet of her to drive all that way for me. Mom asked Kristin about that and she said "If you have to take drugs to get pregnant, I got your back."

We texted Alyssa and JT because they couldn't answer their phones and we didn't want them to be left out. We waited for Corinne to get off work before calling her. Dad Daly was taking care of Grandma & Grandpa Daly so we couldn't find him, so we called over to Grandma & Grandpa's and he had just left. So we got to tell Grandma & Grandpa! We tracked down Dad and our puzzle was complete!

I told my closest girl friends who had been there for me this whole time, the yw presidency and then my best friend here in Texas Julie. Julie texted me on Monday saying she was so sad she was going to miss Thursday because she and Rick were going to be in Singapore. She told me to send her a message on Facebook, she got up in the middle of the night and just happened to check her phone. Minutes after I sent our happy message! We had the best conversation texting back and forth.

I'm really grateful the list of people to tell and call was so long. We have had so much support through this, people to mourn with us and finally to celebrate with us.

We decided we should celebrate and go to the baby section at Target. We were beside ourselves. It's like we finally got permission to be there! We held hands and took our time wandering down the aisles. We bought a teddy bear and the What to Expect When You're Expecting book. BECAUSE WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!

As we were walking down the aisle Scott leaned over to me and told me this was the best day of his life. I couldn't agree more.

Scott moved the rocking chair into the nursery and we finally remembered to take a picture.

The next day I went to go buy a new water bottle and I got so NAUSEOUS on the way home driving. So I texted my mom and sisters. My mom called it a little "Hi, Mama!" Turns out I was hungry. Because THATS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU'RE PREGNANT. I'm pretty excited. I got sick last night again. I took Corinne's advice and we stocked up on saltines and Gatorade today.

Initial bloodwork
HcG - 56
Progesterone - 31.4

Today's follow up bloodwork

HcG - 116
Progesterone - 40.6

6 days later bloodwork
HcG - 981
Progesterone - was good too but I don't remember the exact number.
They wanted to see the HcG double which we did! So we're in the big leagues now. Talking to the Dr. Today they want to send me for more bloodwork in a week and then the week after that after I'm a few days past six weeks we'll do an ultrasound and see how many babies are coming our way. But there's AT LEAST ONE!

We've started calling baby Poppyseed after Kristin drew this print for us.

We love our little poppyseed, what a complete miracle we're living. God is so good.

Hey Baby Daly!

This week has been a dream come true. I've had three different blood draws this week and my HCG has gone from 56 to 116 to 981. I've passed three pregnancy tests! There's really a baby in there! Today I am officially 5w3d and currently awake because I'm too hot and nauseous to sleep. More so hot than nauseous. Pregnancy symptoms really started the day we found out we were pregnant. I've been exhausted and nauseous pretty much the whole time. Nothing really sounds good to eat, but I don't have a hard time keeping things down. Since the symptoms started so early I kinda think we might be having more than one? Then again I've never been pregnant before so what do I know? I keep having dreams we're having twin girls, but I don't know if that's intuition or a subconscious want.

We will definitely be thrilled if it's one baby, but there is a part of me that would love multiples so that we don't have to go through this process as many times to get all of our kids here. I hope that doesn't sound selfish, we're really so grateful to be pregnant.  We have our first ultrasound on the 18th. We'll know how many we have and hopefully get to hear the heartbeat(s)!

Scott calls me Baby Mama every chance he gets and has started texting me asking how the two of us are doing. And the whole thing is just so sweet. We love Daddy very very much.

I ordered this onesie this week. Couldn't resist. I can't believe we're actually going to have a baby to put in it! What a dream come true!

Angels and Hydrangeas

Welp. Tomorrow's the big day. (Thursday)I've been much calmer this time around as far as the anxiety of the results go. It's been far too consuming getting a handle on the rage and the crying. So I guess yay for a distraction? This time has felt so different, I feel like the progesterone is working more because I'm having a harder time, and maybe it feels like it's working because it's actually supporting the baby(ies) inside of me.

Fertility treatments have presented hormonal combinations most people can't even dream of for Scott to navigate.  I hope we have four daughters, because Scott is the most level headed man I know. Teenage girls need that. He came home from work to an angry wife because I was so upset it's so expensive to clean my wedding dress, and I want to make a blessing dress out of it for the daughter we don't have yet. But we've been spending money on fixing our flowerbed which is something I really want. Scott very sweetly told me that even if that's not the first thing on the list he would make sure that we get it done and our daughter would have her dress. So then I cried because it was sweet, and then we went and worked on the dirt patch. It was finally all prepped with the right dirt but this month's flowerbed budget for the project was spent all on dirt. Which is what we agreed to. We made a fantastic gameplan for our finances a couple of months ago so we're both happy and both get a chunk to save or spend every two weeks. I love it. It's really so gratifying to stay in the budget.  (Gosh this is carrying on.)

But my Mom sent me this.

Money for flowers! It was so fun! We ran to Lowe's and I got to pick out my flowers for Easter and it filled my lonely heart right to the brim.

We planted while I listened to Women's Conference and after I was done I posted a picture saying I had been struggling lately, but tonight really cheered me up. A good friend from Girls Camp commented and invited me to lunch on Tuesday. We had the BEST time today. We sat and talked for three hours before we realized what time it was. I really needed that today and I needed her.

But on Sunday a sister came up to me and told me she was trying to talk herself out of this, but she really felt like I needed a hug. She said she had noticed my post and that she thought she may have struggled with what I was struggling with and pointed to her four kids and said they took a really long time to get here. But there is hope. I could have melted right there. Sisterhood is a powerful thing. I don't think I stopped talking about it all day. It was such a tender mercy for me.

Infertility can feel so lonely trapped in your mind. I didn't even publicly announce we were struggling with this and these women just knew. Knew I needed some hope and some strength this week. I am not alone, and I am going to be a mother.

Now to get through the next 36hours.

Oh and crazy town dream update. I bought some new emotional aromatherapy blends from Doterra and one is really helping calm my anxiety so I can sleep better, and I tried this other one on Scott and he's stopped sleep talking! How cool is that? Dreams have toned down a bit, but if you're wondering if I can take down a terrorist trying to get to my girls at girls camp I totally can.
